ALBROMET expands its portfolio of food-grade materials
High-quality copper alloys and aluminum bronzes for the food and packaging industries
Albromet GmbH, a Geretsried-based supplier of high-performance copper materials, is continuing to expand its product offerings for the food, pharmaceutical, and packaging industries. With the successful certification of the ALBROMET-A300 aluminum bronze, a total of four ALBROMET copper materials now hold food-contact certification. This certificate was issued by an independent testing institute and serves as a declaration of safety for direct contact with dry, moist, and greasy foods with a pH value above 4.5.
ALBROMET’s four certified materials now cover a wide range of strengths and thermal conductivities. They are particularly suitable for bearing sleeves, guides, slide elements, molding tools, and machine parts in filling, packaging, and conveying systems. These include a low-alloy copper alloy with exceptionally high thermal conductivity (ALBROMET-W200) as well as plain bearings for dry running.
In addition to their food-grade compliance, ALBROMET’s aluminum bronzes and copper alloys are characterized by high wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and a long service life. These aluminum bronzes offer particular advantages as sliding and friction partners for stainless steel, as they are not prone to adhesive wear and exhibit high corrosion resistance due to their self-healing aluminum oxide layer.
